22 weeks

Well, so much for barely feeling little man move (as stated in the last post). He has been a crazy person in my tummy for the last week! The cute flutters tickle and and make me laugh but there are times when he feels like he is using my organs as a punching bag. The other day i think he was laying on my diaphragm and i couldnt breathe for about 20 minutes until he moved. We went to blue man group last week and he went crazy. Last night, at Zumanity, he was also going crazy. Seems he likes the bass and loud music.

I have been feeling better lately as far as energy and preg symptoms go. Nothing much to report there.

I am going back and forth as to whether or not to run the 1/2 marathon next weekend or just the 5k. I really want to try and do the marathon. Even if i can't run the whole thing, i should be able to run/walk it. But, I havent been training for about 2 weeks now so we will see.

We have decided not to name little man until he is born. We have a few names picked out, but nothing solid yet. We pick a few names and say them for a few weeks to see what sticks. So far we have Jaxon Reilly, Gavin James, Ethan Maddox, Maddox Zane and a few others. For now, we just call him baby Jack Bauer (from the show 24) Toyota Bubbles (long story and i hope that i remember it when im old).

I did my first loads of baby laundry this week and i was SO excited to wash and fold all those little tiny clothes! We also have JBTB's coming home outfit all picked out. I leave it hanging in the living room so that i can stare at it ::googley eyes & cheesy smile::

I cant wait for baby boy to get here, but i am enjoying being pregnant.

ITS A BOY!

On Feb 11th, 2011 we found out our little baby (Jack Bauer Toyota Bubbles) is a baby boy! I KNEW IT! Nate and I had a bet going and i won ::dancing around:: I thought that finding out the sex of the baby would be my sentimental moment. I was preparing myself the night before to cry in the office when the tech said "its a..." Instead, I shouted "I won! woot woot! I wont! You lose!" Maybe the sentimental moment will come when he's born. Or, maybe Nate and I will have some other inside joke about the birth and we will both be laughing our butts off about something else. Guess I'm just not that sentimental. Oh well, at least I'm funny ;)

We are working on the nursery. We got the floor samples in and the paint samples. The carpet is ripped up and Nate swears that he will paint soon ::cough, uh huh, cough:: jk. He has actually been working hard to get things moving on the nursery and we are ahead of schedule.

I've been feeling fine as far as the pregnancy goes. I only have a few minor complaints such as heartburn (tums does not work; ive upgraded to pepcid ac), exhaustion (I'm ready for bed at like 7pm) and not having the physical stamina i used to have in order to run and exercise. I'm scheduled to run a half marathon in march, but at this point its touch and go. I can only run for about an hour to an hour and a half before i get really exhausted and need to rest (more like sleep for a week). If I feel unprepared by the time it gets here, then i wont be running it. Im kinda sad about it though because I've been training for a marathon for a long time. During the summer i was training for the Dec 2010 Rock and Roll marathon, but then i got pregnant and i didnt want to risk running in the first trimester. Now, I've been training for this one in March and I just can't seem to get up the physical stamina to get 'er dun.

I barely feel the baby move, but I can feel it sometimes. The midwife said that my placenta is anterior (in the front) so its harder for me to feel him. Baby Boy only moves for Daddy, tho. He doesnt move all day for me (or all night) but as soon as Nate rubs my belly and talks to him, he starts doing summersaults in there. The other night when Nate was playing with him, he kicked me really hard. It was a definite kick. SO COOL! But, Baby Boy won't do it for me :/ He's already a daddy's boy.

Tomorrow I will be 20 weeks. This is already 1/2 way over. I can't believe how fast it's going. It feels like just yesterday I was frustrated that I wasn't getting pregnant. It'll be sad when it's over but happy because we will have little baby Jack Bauer Toyota Bubbles.

Week 14, 15, 16 updates

I really thought I would be better about blogging, but i just dont seem to be. Anyway, weeks 14, 15, 16 have been awesome. I am starting to show more now, which i LOVE! I feel great. no more morning sickness or exhaustion. I had the flu for a few weeks, but this week I have been flu free. I have some slight muscle aches and heartburn, but all in all i feel fantastic!

I am excited to be exercising again. I've been training for the 1/2 marathon which is coming up in March. I missed running and I am glad to be back to it. I think people at the gym think i am fat, tho, and are thinking "run, fat girl, run!" I want to get a shirt that says "Im not fat; im pregnant! AND, im STILL running!" I'll have a cute shirt made for the marathon tho. Maybe something that says "I was eating for two so now i need to run for two." teehee.

Nate started on the baby's room this weekend by pulling up the carpet and ordering samples for the flooring. He is on top of the decorating and remodeling of that room. We have decided to go with a panda theme (my mom picked it out). It started because we are doing bamboo floors and my mom and I were talking about doing an Asian theme. Then, she suggested pandas. I LOVE pandas. They are so cute! And a neutral theme. I dont want to do a nursery twice and sense we are planning on back to back babies, I just want to keep the nursery the way it is one time. Pandas are PERFECT!

Once we find out the sex (Feb 11th), Nate says that he will be more willing to choose names with me. I cannot WAIT to find out the sex so i can quit calling by baby "it" and use a more specific pronoun. Hell, I cant wait to start calling baby by a name other than "baby." Altho, Nate and I named our animals and we never use their real names anyway. I think that will happen to our kids too- they will be given nick names and called those for the rest of their lives. "Fatty" (fat cat) is really names Aurora, but no one knows that. lol. I think someone even suggested it as a baby name and i was like "That's out cats name" and they were like "what cat? You have fatty and baby kitty." HA!

I got caught up on the pregnancy book, filled it with pics, and wrote down stuff. That's a plus. I also got the entire house cleaned last weekend for the first time in about 4 months. Now, I am really enjoying being pregnant (now that I have my normal energy levels back again).

My mom has already started plans for the baby shower and im too excited for that! I am more excited for this baby shower than i was for any birthday, my wedding reception and i think even my wedding- maybe. If the baby shower was on a tropical island then it would be a for sure!

We got a doula and she is great. We picked our birthing classes (hypnobirthing) and will get all signed up for that. I feel like we are moving right along with getting all of our panda's in row for the birth. I haven't even BEGUN to start on the things for after the baby comes (like learning baby sign language, figuring out a baby registry, etc).

I think that about covers what's been going on in the last few weeks. OH- i think i MIGHT have felt the baby move two nights in a row, but it wasnt for sure and it was really small. I can't wait for a "oh ya, that's a kick to the ribs" moment. So, that about covers it!

Week 13, Our Scare and the past few weeks

I havent been posting as much as I thought that I would when I first starting blogging. I also haven't been taking my weekly belly pics either. I seemed to have missed week 11 (out of town at Disney Land) and week 12 (just lazy!). Week 13, however, is taken and WOW what a difference a few weeks makes in belly size. Crazy thing is that when I went in to the dr week 10 I was 164lbs. Today, at 13 weeks with huge belly I was 160lbs. Im not really worried about the weight. I am sorta enjoying eating carbs and eating first breakfast, second breakfast, snack, first lunch, second lunch etc. and not feeling guilty. I am still eating fairly healthy because I crave fruits and veggies and juice right now. But, i am not stressing about my food because I can finally enjoy food again after 8 weeks of misery!

We had a scare about a week ago when I started bleeding pretty heavy. It was exactly on 12 weeks and I had just thought that morning "YES! out of the miscarriage danger zone!" Figures! So, we went to the ER and they didn't tell us crap! So, I scheduled an appointment with my doc and already had an ultrasound scheduled for the following thursday. Turns out that everything was fine. Sometimes, when the baby lands somewhere in the uterus, there is old blood pooled in the uterus and the baby grows on top of it. Then, later, when the placenta gets heavy or for whatever reason, the blood clot gets shaken loose and the mother bleeds. No worries. So, I had been on light duty for about a week, but was cleared yesterday to resume all normal activities including running and marathon training! WOO HOO!

I've had a few moments of freak out about time and money. I've found that clear thinking and lists help me feel better :)   We have purchased our Doula package for cheap, cheap, cheap. Usually a doula is between $500-$800 but we got an entire package fr $700. It includes a labor doula, a postpartum doula for 3 hours, our birthing class (which is a $225 value), and all these workshops like breast feeding, cloth diapering, etc. SO useful! I am excited about that package.

We are going to start on the nursery soon. We have been discussing colors and flooring. I hate this part! I am NOT a designer.

During the ultrasound, we got to see the baby! Let me tell you, this child is stubborn and excited. All baby kept doing was facing the camera and waving. I think there was even a smile. The tech needed a certain position to do the screening (for down syndrome and such) and it wasnt facing the camera. Took baby 30 minutes to get its act together and quit monkeying around. so cute tho! It was incredible to watch the baby swim around and move so easily. The heartbeat was normal and good. Everything is healthy and on track.

I think that's about it! I hope I didnt forget anything important. So much has happened in the last few weeks and I've been so busy with the holidays. Plus, preggo brain is causing me to forget alot of stuff. I almost forgot to write about the ultrasound which is the most exciting part. DUH!

Week 9 and 10

I am 10wks 2 days today so I havent gotten very far into week 10 yet. Week 9 was the worst! I just slept through most of it. I was tired, nauseous and just felt icky. I feel bloated all the time even tho i can barely eat anything. I eat soup and I feel like I ate an entire buffet. But, an hour later I feel like I havent eaten in weeks and I need to eat NOW!

However, yesterday, 10 wks and 1 day, I started to get these tiny bursts of energy. I would run up and down the stairs like I had been given rocket fuel. But, they only last a few minutes before I am exhausted again. Today, I was able to clean the back yard, clean down stairs and open all of our mail before getting exhausted. That was a good 3 hours of work! I haven't been able to work like that for monhts. Now, however, I am supposed to be doing work notes and I am blogging because I need to take a nap after working all morning.

Friday, Dec 10, we had our 10 wk appt. Doc tried to hear the babies heart beat, but baby was hiding out. She said everything else looked good tho and cleared me to train for a 1/2 marathon in march, which i am stoked about. She said that it would be good for me and baby to get in really good shape anyway and would help me with my natural delivery plans. Blood was taken to check for whatever they check for. I go back in 2 weeks for an ultrasound and I should be able to hear AND SEE baby then. woo hoo!

Still not settled on any names. Zoelle Ashleigh (zoe for short) has stuck for a girl but I still really like McKenzi. There are too many choices! Boy names seem to be more difficult.

I really hope that the nausea and exhaustion is coming to an end. I am starting to feel better in general so this could be the start of a beautiful 2nd trimester. ::fingers crossed::
